GREAT NEWS – Funding of Club Projects

Have you ever had this experience?  A member of your club initiated a very good project but your club does not have sufficient fund for it. The member is so enthusiastic about it and you are reluctant to turn him/her down. Where can you get the additional funding?

In this Rotary Year 2014-15, thanks to our District Dignitaries and dedicated Rotarians for their contributions and donations, we are very lucky to have at least TWO Funding sources:  i) District Grant from our District Rotary Foundation Committee chaired by PDG Peter Wan; and ii) a newly introduced Service Above Self Matching Grant (SASMG) from the SASMG Committee chaired by PDG Peter Wong.

(A)District Grant

The total District Grants funds available is about US$128,464. US$50,000 of the District Grants has been reserved for scholarship and vocational training teams.  (…read more)

District Membership Development & Retention Seminar on 2 Aug 2014

August is the Membership and Extension Month Rotary International set aside to focus on membership. Membership development and retention are the most important elements in securing the future of Rotary and to continue the Rotary’s mission of humanitarian service. As I mentioned during the District Training Assembly on 24 May 2014, RI President Gary Huang emphasized that we will Light Up Rotary reaching our goal 1.3 million Rotarians, bringing in new members while working to keep the members we have. 2015 SÃO PAULO CONVENTION DATES CHANGED

Rotary International President Gary Huang and the RI Board have changed the dates for the 2015 Rotary Convention in São Paulo, Brazil, to Saturday, 6 June, through Tuesday, 9 June – starting and ending one day earlier than previously scheduled.  (…read more)

Coastal Watch (Shek O beach) – Rotary District 3450 PPE Committee Team

The Coastal Watch (Shek O Beach) event, which was originally scheduled on 20 July (Sunday), will be postponed until further notice as the date would need to be confirmed with the Team Scientist and the NGO partner, Ecovision Asia.  This event is organized by PPE Committee and up to now it has recruited 30 participants.  (…read more)
