PEACE THRUGH SERVICE

Rotary International President Sakuji Tanaka made “Peace Through Service” theme of the current Rotary year. He has the vision of having each of the 1.2 million Rotarian in the world to be the builders of Peace.
Peace is the ultimate consequences of all the humanitarian service efforts that Rotarians undertake in more than 200 countries and regions in the world.
For all the things that are important to us, wealth, health, family and friends would not be attainable without personal tranquility, happiness in family, harmonious society and indeed a peaceful world.
Peace is something that each and every Rotarian could build through their Rotary services.
There will a series of programs and activities.

Make A Difference (“MAD”)

Rotarians are leaders from various businesses and professions, but there is one business that unites us all -‐ the business of making a difference.
Our business in eradicating polio, combating hunger, improving literacy worldwide, providing clean water and sanitation, alleviating poverty is making a difference to the lives of many around the world.
Every day, Rotarians are making a difference with their time, resources, business skills and connection as well as a strong desire to give back to the society.
I therefore name Presidents for 2012-‐ 13 the MAD presidents, for all of them are true Rotarians who understand the meaning of MAD and I know they shall stay MAD with me throughout the year.
Together, we shall build peace, alleviate poverty and provide clean drinking water to the underprivileged.
I would like to call upon all Rotarians in District 3450 to assist me in building a bigger and stronger district, a more peaceful and harmonious societies of Hong Kong, Macau and Mongolia in which we live.

Yours in Rotary,
Kenneth Wong
District Governor 2012-13
