Poverty Alleviation is one of the major themes of the District this year. As part of the collaboration between Rotary and Hong Kong Council of Social Services in tackling poverty, Rotary Club of the Peak has sponsored Habitat for Humanity for launching its “Under No Roof” project on June 22nd. Habitat for Humanity is an international NGO dedicated to eliminating poverty in housing. Since 1976, Habitat has built and renovated 500,000 homes and provided an estimated 2.5 million people in 100 countries with safe, decent and affordable shelter.
