Rotary Club of Metropolitan Hong Kong is pleased to announce that a dinner meeting jointly organized by Area 2 clubs will be held on 27 March 2014 at the ballroom of Regal Hong Kong Hotel in Causeway Bay.  Mr. Stephen Lam Sui Lung, GBM, JP, former Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR Government, will address the meeting.

After retiring from the public service in June 2012, Mr. Lam read theology at the University of Oxford and graduated with a Certificate in Theological and Pastoral Studies in June 2013.  Currently, as a free-lance speaker, Mr. Lam visits churches, schools and other institutions to speak on a variety of subjects. 

Mr. Lam will be addressing Rotarians on the subject of “Qualities of Leadership: 

Some Observations”.   He will be drawing upon his public service experience to distill certain qualities which leaders in both public and private sectors should build upon, in order to roll forward the cause that their organisations serve.  Mr. Lam will deliver his talk in English but will welcome questions in both English and Chinese.

Clubs of Area 2 would like to extend invitation to fellow Rotarians in the District to attend the dinner meeting on 27 March and share the insights of Mr. Lam, who is well known as a talent in public speaking and has vast experience in administrative matters from various important government posts he had held including the Director of the Handover Ceremony Coordination Office, Spokesman for the First Term Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government, Secretary of Constitutional and Mainland Affairs and the Chief Secretary for Administration.

Rotarians interested in attending the meeting on 27 March should inform the Executive Secretary of the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Hong Kong, Ms. Pure Chan, who can be contacted by phone at 9831 1463 or by email at tanco_pacific@hotmail.com.hk., no later than 12 March 2014.  The charge per person for the dinner meeting is HK$550.
