Octopus Card / Organ Donation Update

Dear Presidents and District Leaders,

At the recent JPM and DMC meetings, I have informed you of the latest developments regarding promotion of organ donation in the community and that the third batch of Rotary Octopus Cards will be available for sale at 6 designated Tom Lee outlets starting from 23 October 2013.

In this connection, I am pleased to attach the following references which I hope you will share with your members and friends:
 
(i)  a video in which key figures in the Health sector, benefactors of organ donation and celebrities spoke of their views and support for organ donation;

(ii) the poster/leaflet which will be put up/distributed at the 6 designated outlets of Tom Lee Music Ltd where the Rotary Octopus Cards will be available for sale;
 
(iii) a link to the section of our District website where information on our work on organ donation is presented. (attach link here)
 
 As you are aware, previously 4,000 Rotary Octopus Cards were sold almost in no time.   For this round, we have 5,000 Rotary Octopus Cards for adults.  Another 2,000 cards for elderly will be available in November.   Subject to market demand, we will continue to sell the Rotary Octopus cards.   We trust this will at the same time enhance the public’s awareness and hence their intention to register as organ donors.  This will in turn enhance the chance of organ donation and the saving of more lives through organ transplant.   Let’s work together in promoting this to everyone in the community.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to thank PP Frank Lee for his great support in designating 6 outlets of his Tom Lee Music Ltd to assist in
selling the Rotary Octopus Cards.
