國際扶輪社三四五地區第二十五屆年會 — 銀禧之夜 林華新總監 (臺北東區扶輪社) Ricardo Lin, Rotary International District 345 Governor 1984-1985 時間:民國七十四年(1985 年)三月二十一日至二十三日 地點:陽明山中山樓 / 臺北圓山大飯店 參加人數:香港/澳門 188 人、日本 36 人、臺灣北部地區 1,178 人,合計 1,402 人(不含眷屬) 平均會議出席人數:80%以上 天氣:春寒料峭、陰雨綿綿 氣溫:攝氏 12~15 度 第二十五屆年會盛況打破多年來的紀錄,有照片及錄影帶為證。在往後的年會能超越其盛 況者鳳毛麟角。但成就這場盛事幕後所付出的辛勞,非筆墨足以形容。尤其是社友們的鼎力相 助,眾志成城,更使我感佩萬分,至今難忘。 年會的考驗 總監任內另一重頭戲就是籌辦年會。公式訪問結束後,待我查詢年會之事,籌備會已開過 三次會議,主委和秘書才告知將面臨的難題,尚待解決者主要有下列事項: (一)要求面目一新,異於往年。往年年會地點,都是選在來來飯店(Sheraton Hotel)。現今 開會日期決定權又不在扶輪社,卻屬於開會場地的主管經理,且距離年會日期剩下不到半年。 (二)無法確定人數、無法做預算、無法訂定收費額,又期待不超過去年的收費,真可說是 「巧婦難為無米之炊」。 (三)晚會康樂節目委託演藝界高層人士安排,開出來的價碼是 60 萬元(新臺幣)。有一個半小 時的歌舞表演,內容能否接受?但各社自動參與表演的節目全部要取消,頗費口舌。 (四)陽明山中山樓已答應租用一天,但一千多位社友的交通問題要如何解決?停車位只有一 百個,平均十位社友才有一個停車位。 (五)港澳社友來臺開會,增加許多交通費用,是否要調整收費? 籌委會委員均是社會上的企業精英,一流的管理人才。三次共約五個小時會議,剩下來的 有這五個待決大懸案。 有句格言:「成功不是坐電梯直上,而是一步一步踏階梯往上爬。」 2 但我卻看不到階梯,怎麼辦?又不能休息一下再說,因為年會一定得在春天舉行,臺灣才 有鳥語花香。 籌委們看我皺眉無言以對,從此再不邀我這個「木工」參加。坦白說,年會的成績我是毫 無貢獻的。事後才知道,預算是假設社友一千位繳款參加,收費參照前一年每人 2,850 元,來賓 及夫人眷屬每人 2,500 元。樂觀估計,正確度可達百分之七十。 晚會節目費 60 萬元,初估預算是不足以支付。三位主腦人物——秘書長黃美雄、主委蔡崇 文、臺北東區社社長駱錦明,承諾代墊。 往返陽明山中山樓交通問題,由大洋旅行社主人紀瑞卿社友拍胸膛以租用巴士解決,另編 預算補貼;其餘籌委在自己職責目標上均自願承擔、補貼其工作範圍內的不足經費。年會籌備 工作遂於 1984 年 11 月底開始急起直追,全面加速展開,動員企業主管人力不下十餘位。這類出 錢又出力的熱心高級義工,也只有在扶輪社才能看到。 果然,年會於 1985 年 3 月 21 日準時開鑼。22 日早晨七點半,十餘部五十人座大巴士相繼 由圓山大飯店停車場上陽明山,傍晚又相繼下山。其情其景,怎不叫人驚喜若狂,感激流淚。 翻看當年相片和錄影帶,看到臺方社友與港澳社友在巴士前合影,笑聲猶在耳畔。又有誰 知籌委會諸公的辛酸與緊張?因時間緊迫又是新手一群,多少的疑難雜症、瑣碎事都是靠這群 義工的急智或自掏腰包處理掉的,但是表面上卻看似風平浪靜。二十餘年後的今日,猶懷無限 感激與敬仰。尤其思念已仙逝的臺北東南區社前社長周俠、桃園社前社長陳炳琳、大洋旅行社 的紀瑞卿社友。 中華民國前總統嚴家淦先生(臺北扶輪社創社社長)(右二) 進場,總監林華新(右一)、候任總監左立基(Nuno Maria Roque Jorge )(澳門濠江扶輪社)(後左二) 、總監提名人黃其光(臺北扶輪社)(左一)陪同。
